Is it possible? My modem is bridged to a Mikrotik router. At the moment I'm using pppoe to get a public IP but can reconfigure and use ipoe (something I've been intending to do).

Your PPPoE link is actually a /32 (some will say thats impossible, lets not go there), its totally possible for your ISP to give you more. /30 will give you a usable pair, /29 a set of 6.

VF rent IPs not sell them so you'd end up paying like 7E per IP per mo or something. Tad steep.
Leasing a single IP from the local NGA node and the PPPoE RAS might be possible to get two free, depends on how the VF backend operates.

VM's pool permits 4 per CMTS reg which is nice, if only the CPE didnt suck.

Yeah I understand a pppoe is /32. I don't want to pay for a /30. In the past I've refused to give Vodafone a monthly fee for static when Eir do a one off fee. I was more wondering if there was a way I could setup to get a second lease, I don't care if it's dynamic as I can sort that good enough for my needs.

Unless they've changed, I'm pretty sure Vodafone allowed two PPPoE sessions up at once... so two dynamic public IP's

Are Vodafone doing IPoE yet? I believe they're even using PPPoE on their new Siro product

I believe they must use IPoE to use the Multicast TV products.

    PPPoE on SIRO alright.

Nope. Multicast TV is passed in a different VLan to the router, so has it's own session. Out of band. At least on SIRO. But OpenEIR spec is pretty much the same. Same tech anyhow.

They issue a join request from 10 to get themselves added to 1101 but thats over IP. There needs to be some form of local addressing schema routed from the NGA node onwards and not from the operator pool.

Unless an MVPN permits that as an injection, not something I'm read up on.
