    Folks

Newby here, just wondering if anyone can recommend where I might get an engine replaced in a Mercedes C class 201, the chain slipped. I know I could source an engine myself and get it fitted, but is there someone who does all at a reasonable price either a reconditioned one or one from a breakers yard.

    Thanks

Has anyone assessed the damage to the existing engine to whether a rebuild is an option? If you do have to replace the existing engine then buying second hand is a lottery and would mean you to want to replace the chain, rails, etc on that one too so that you know the same thing won't happen to that engine. Your probably looking at spending the same or more at that stage as a reconditioned engine.

How do you know it was the chain. The 201 has a duplex chain that rarely gives trouble.
    What year is the car?

I work for a Mercedes and bmw specialist. Where u located. U know u could just get a chain kit and get the head done. Although thinking about it prob could be cheaper buying a second hand engine.
