    Hi,

Basically two months ago I got a letter pleased to inform me that I have been allocated a meeting. First problem, I already have a part time job and I do a part time course. I explained this to them and they said to notify DSP which I did and they had no record of any course so I provided more proof and they left me alone until yesterday.
They made a meeting and scheduled it for a day I am in work, also I informed them that in August I have been told I will have full time employment and will be signing off social welfare altogether. The girl from turas nua said it doesn’t matter I will have to attend anyway. In addition to all that I also have some heavy personal stuff going on. I have just graduated from my course can they not just leave me be till August? I also said I won’t be signing ANYTHING they stick in front of me as well be seen from other posts that people get stung.

    Any advice much appreciated!

I think you will just have to go ahead with it until August..These people are parasites hungry for money and backed by the government who do not trust the unemployed to get their own jobs..Be careful not to give too much info to them or they will hound when you start work in August... I was with them for 7 months I told them I had no phone was completely computer illiterate and had no transport
. I got my own job recently and they have been writing to me to try and get info of my employment so the can get paid from social welfare..To be honest you can't win with them and social welfare because in this country if you are unfortunate to be out of work you are treated like a low life and do not get a fair hearing from anyone..Roll on August and good look in your new job.

Thanks for the advice.... I already work part time with the company and will be working full time come August. Also I may get more days covering for people now I’m finished college.... I don’t want to go near them tbh cos I have a job and will be off sw soon.... it’s maddening

It is ridiculous bringing in people who are already working but it's all down to profit for this English company.. I had been working for 41 years, here the UK and Europe so I really don't need anybody to tell me how to get a job but thankfully I am finished with the parasites now.. if you got a few extra days covering would it not be worth your while signing off just to get away from TN ?

I know it’s crazy!! I’d understand if I was doing NOTHING at all but I am and will be out of their hair soon so why not just leave me alone!

I could sign off but I’d be leaving myself seriously stuck for rent and bills! I don’t claim rent allowance or anything just the weekly payment. I’m hardly their biggest payee.... So irritating 😭

I've been with them a year now and they've been about as helpful in getting me a job as Donald Trump would be at a climate-change conference. Thankfully I'm off their books now as I've signed up for a course. Goddamn, almost every 2/3 weeks I had an appointment and that would be fine is there was some benefit to it, but there wasn't. All they were interested in was asking me the same rudimentary questions every few weeks and how my job searching was going. It was a complete and utter waste of time. Over the course of the year, maybe only 5 days tops were anyway beneficial, and those were 2/3 hour semesters on interviews, CVs and applying for jobs. The one to one sessions with my personal advisor every few weeks was absolutely pointless.

I could be wrong here but don't give them any information about your job because when you go full time, they try to claim that they got you the job and get paid from the social welfare and then annoy your employer to see how you're getting on.
