Hi Guys, just wondering if there is a "broadband only" Saorview option yet that covers people who don't have an aerial.

I have fibre broadband and an android box connected to the TV but find that the quality of the Irish players (RTE, 3 etc) tends to be pretty patchy on android so just wondering if there's a version of a freeview / saorview box that can be plugged into the telly with reliable, decent resolution, buffer free service.

Alternatively, would an indoor aerial connected to the tv suffice, the house is in a housing estate in Newcastle West, Co. Limerick.

I doubt an indoor aerial would suffice ...... but it depends on signal strength at your location. What Saorview transmitter would you be using?

A better bet might be an outdoor aerial in the attic.

According to saorview.ie it's the Maghera transmitter which is 62km away.

I would suggest an outdoor aerial for that distance.

I don't think there is a legal IPTV solution for what you want to do unless anyone else knows otherwise.

There is this broadband service €5.99, a month I have no idea what it's like as it's all FTA

After that it's satellite dishes or Aerials which will give you broadcast quality for Saorview and Freesat :P

Aer TV needs to update that bunch of channel logos, BBC Three stopped being a linear channel over two years ago.

All the channels are streamed so perhaps that is why BBC3 is in there. It is a streaming only option now.

Do I see RTE+1 there or are there 2 rte 1 channels? RTE2+1?

    No BBC3 mentioned here

Lots of stuff on the site dated at 2015 including Squash Masters 'Live'

The 'sports live' is also dead I believe.
