Help;Guide to becoming Self Employed

Hi there

Hope this is the right place for thread.

It's very early days and I'm thinking long term, but what are the must-take steps before becoming self employed?
And to be honest I'm not even sure what industry yet I'll try to get set up in.

My plan wouldn't be to get a loan or capital initially, I have some savings that I would try get up on my feet with-so no need to approach a bank just yet??
Really I'm looking for quite a dumbed down version of who to approach (Revenue I'd imagine, and what to do there ?)
and some advice from anyone of you who have come from a workplace environment to heading out on your own.

Thankfully I've no debt and no loans etc to pay off, also no dependents.

Depends on the industry you intend to work in .
Genuinely pick something you enjoy and could see yourself doing as a hobby ad something of interest.
I've never met a successful self-employed person who hates their work.
