Simple answer - Pirates in Dublin do get raided - any high profile pirate eg mainstream music or advertisements tend to be closed quickly ,many are weekend or evening time only stations which tend not to bother the authorities as much.

There are also other methods eg contacting the site owners which tends to put a station of air fairly quickly.

There are only two pirates that are on the air for more than a year - Phever and Trax - and both are not main stream, keep to themselves and don't cause problems for legals

Not causing problems shouldnt alter the fact that they are illegal.....

very true, however if they aren't causing any problems then no point in wasting limited resources on dealing with them.

I'm very highly educated. I know words, i have the best words, nobody has better words then me.

Klub FM Cork used to have a reasonable signal in South Tipperary until a visit from the authorities made them move site. The last pirate I remember being in Tipp was Roxy FM on 106.4 in Clonmel. There are a fair few still operating around the country.

I did hear roxy fm when it was on..Any idea who was involved there..I think Tipp/Clonmel might be ready for a pirate station...

No clue, but yeah Tipp definitely needs and deserves its own pirate, beam it towards Dungarvan - we’ve nothing out here either!

7 watts wouldn’t cover much ground I’d say

    I got around 5km with a 7w with a good Antenna, those rigs don't give 7w from 88 - 108. I found that out with a Swr / Power meter, around 94Fm was 7w, elsewhere was anywhere from 3 - 5 watts.

I remember back in the day they were often getting raided. I can remember having to look out for the "truck" before leaving radio stations.

I don't think Com Reg have the funds anymore to go chasing them.
