They seem to be out of stock just about everywhere:(

    thanks

I have one, although I ordered it right after it was announced. This will probably be the top selling camera for quite a while, so finding stock locally will be difficult. The grey market dealers will probably have some (e-global, e-infinity, etc).

Hi Gloobag, how are you finding it? are you using sony glass or did you buy an adapter. It looks like its a game changer.

I used to have the A7II and currently have the A7RII as well, and I would say that it is a pretty big leap ahead of both of those in a few areas (AF, colour tones, low light, battery life, video and ergonomics).

I have only ever used native glass since I switched to Sony a few years back, to be honest.

    Hello,

I have been an amateur photographer using Sony alpha 7 series camera for the last 3 years, and a7M3 does seem to be a game changer, not because of prolonged supply delay, but because of batches selling quickly.

If you are in the market for a brand-new one, you simply need to put your name down with a small sum of deposit, which is good enough to reserve your copy. It would usually take about two weeks for your shop to get mainstream models stocked.

This model offers such a great value for money with a higher standard of specifications that it gets sold out regularly in some countries, Japan, U.S., Germany, etc. not just in Ireland. I think it has many features on a par with a7RM3 and some features are even better than a7RM3.

    Good luck.

Why is this considered a game changer ? mirrorless?

My friend had one and I played around with it, excellent IQ but i found the menus awful to use - and he even agrees with me and he's used to it.
    Normally I'm a Canon user.

Has a lot of excellent features at a great price of I think 2000 euro. Great low noise sensor, 4k video, IBIS, dual SD card slots and plenty of other things that I think you'd only get with the 3-4k Nikon/Canon offerings.

Agreed though about the menus. I have a Sony A6500 after coming from Canon and the menus are truly dreadful. Still have difficulty finding stuff after 6 months of use.

I picked one up for a walk around travel camera a few weeks ago. In fairness it has not seen much action due to work.
However so far I love it. Focus is fast and sharp, the focus options are excellent, IQ excellent. High ISO is impressive.
The Menus, they are not as good as they could be. however a little thought in setting up the custom buttons resolved that very quickly for me.
I borrowed a metabones adapter from a friend to see how the canon lens worked out, I was not overly impressed but I was only messing in the garden.

Fantastic camera, just make sure you have an extra battery.

Yeah, and the size is great so portable and nice to carry around ... real pity about the menus.

When people say that something is a game changer, there is something about its overall appeal. Not just individual features over whether they are ok or not. I think it has manifested itself in the way it is sold out, viewed in magazines, YouTube, web sites, etc.

Especially, user interface items can be divisive and user opinions can be quite subjective. Personally, I am also one of the users who feel the menu interface and the button arrangement should be designed better.
