Not BAI, no. Not in their jurisdiction. To the Minister.

Given that Virgin have been allowed take over minnows before, I can’t see there being any competition issues. Indeed it effectively “completes the jigsaw”, bar some very small analogue only operators (which I’m not sure any of which are even still in business) Virgin Media will now own the entire traditional cable television network in the country.

Out of curiosity, does Casey Cablevision still show the Welsh ITV and BBC channels or did they switch to the Ulster channels like Cork Multichannel did years ago ?

Crossans of Longford Town and Smyths of Cavan Town are still in business, but now both have digital TV services available (using unencrypted DVB-T on UHF frequencies instead of DVB-C to avoid the need for set top boxes).
The analogue channels are still available on the old VHF frequencies, there's been no reduction in service like with Virgin, both have in the region of 30-40 analogue channels

    Are they providing broadband?

Does Casey provide Channel 5 and ITV channels?

    Both provide reasonable enough broadband.

They did at one stage, but that was pre UTV Ireland days. Virgin Media still have ITV3&4, incidentally, but have never carried C5.

They offer BBC One and Two from both Northern Ireland and England and ITV from London. No Welsh variants.

An interesting RTE TV news archive from early 1988 here:

    https://www.rte.ie/archives/2014/0115/497951-making-tv-sets-in-dungarvan-1988/

of how Caseys then went into TV manufacturing with a brand called DAYSHA (a variation of the name 'Deise' for County Waterford).
Does mention the setting up of the cable service etc

Any idea how long this kept going?

Casey Cable was the only reason to move to Dungarvan for decades! :D

I would have assumed they were rebadging the eras equivalent of Vestel kit but they were assembling the circuit boards etc also in that video so it was a sizeable enough operation.

I just notice they're offering 420mbit/s broadband as standard. That's singificantly faster than Virgin's top package at 360mbit/s... I wonder does that mean Dungarvan customers get downgraded?

Has casey re-branded or has the sale completed?
