    Hi,

I'm planning on getting Saorview with both the Irish and UK channels.

So that brings the question of getting either an approved combi TV or approved combi box.

I never had Saorview before (previously went with cable TV) so... any thoughts on which to pick? :)

Anyone else had to make the choice any any particular reasons you opted for one option over the other?

    Thanks.

Do you need 7 day epg on saorview and satellite?

    Do you want catchup tv?

Do you mind having to switch between saorview and satellite (if not all are on one epg)?

    Hi,

    Thanks for the quick reply!:)

    Nope.

Mmm good point. Not really a deal breaker for me though if it only involves pressing a few buttons and isn't something like an install reconfig.

Nordmende, Walker and Toshiba have a range of combi Vestel TVs that combine the terrestrial and satellite channels together, sort of, satellite channels start at 300 with now and next info, Saorview with 7 day epg start at 1. Satellite channels can be arranged/sorted as required from 300 upwards - https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057717391

    Your needs are simple so.
Any standard combi box in an electrical store will do you.

Edit: just to add, I presume you are aware you will need a satellite dish for satellite channels and a uhf terrestrial aerial for saorview (or rabbit ears if in good reception area).
