Will be in Vilamoura for 2 weeks at the end of July. We usually rent a car but don’t want to this year as our “kids” are in their late teens so will be staying out later and want to be able to have a few drinks. Does anyone know if Uber is in use in Vilamoura and reliable?

We used it in and around Albufeira two weeks ago with absolutely zero issues, it was a godsend really. Should be no issues with Vilamoura, only down the road really.

Taxis are quite cheap in Portugal too. And definitely available and reliable.

We’re a good 20 min walk from the Marina and have never used taxis as we always had the car. Just wondering would they still be plentiful during the busy July/August season?

Uber is great in the Algarve. We used last year and found the service really good and reliable. It's slightly cheaper than taxis also.

I go to the Algarve and Portugal in general quite a bit. Always found loads of taxis around and always found them clean and in good condition. Good sized saloons, plenty of Mercs, that kind of car. Generally speaking better quality taxis than here and cheaper too. Maybe uber is good too, I don't know, but I'm biased, drove a bit of taxi during college and its not an easy living. I always support the taxis when I can.
