I'm clueless when it comes to cars but i just got a new ford fiesta and I'm trying to connect my Moto G5 or my Samsung tablet to the radio through the AUX port. Having no luck whatsoever. Any suggestions?

I'd imagine it would have a USB port, why would you want to connect via AUX?

    Have you installed Android Auto?

Never heard of it. What does that do. I can download and give it a go

Surely the new Fiesta supports audio over bluetooth?

    It's a 16 fiesta. No bluetooth

I also have a 2016 fiesta and it does have buletooth. Once you set it up you have the option to use Bluetooth or the built in Spotify app. Mine is an ST but pretty sure the head unit is the same across all of them?

There's no bluetooth. It's not an ST

There is an aux in socket then? And an aux button?

Sometimes you need to turn the volume knob before it will play the aux in

To be honest my knowledge is limited. There's a USB port and an AUX button. My sister's iPhone works but my android Moto G5 doesnt

So are you using a headphone cable or a USB cable? You need to press the aux button again to cycle through usb and 3.5mm in.

My sister used her charger cable for her iPhone and it worked. I tried my charger cable. USB into the car and charger side into the phone. Push the aux button and nothing happens. (Sorry my knowledge is basic lol)

You need a male / male cable.

One goes to headphones jack on phone

Ok, that’s a USB. It may be reading the iPhone as an iPod and playing that way.
Not sure if you can do the same on an android phone, but you can certainly use a 3.5mm to 3.5mm headphone type of lead which will play whatever the phone plays, you won’t be able to control the phone using the steering wheel or radio controls nor will it charge the phone.

There's no where to plug in a 3.5mm lead.
When my sister plugged her phone in it could be controlled by the steering wheel. Head's wrecked

And there definitely isnt a little silver hole beside the USB socket?

No 3.5mm port in the car just USB. Actually wrecking my head 😂

When you press the aux button a few times (leave a few seconds between presses) , what comes up on the screen?

There’s no “phone” button on your radio?

    It says "no device connected"

I have a 2012 fiesta and connect my samsung via the AUX no problem at all. You must have the volume turned up on your phone in order to hear the music

See issue here is apple uses charge end but can also output.

I believe you can get a USB to 3.5mm so USB to car and 3.5 to phone

Did you open glove box and check top right hand corner?

  • Registered Users Posts: 134 ✭✭Talkinghands87

Different set up than mine. I don't have the 3.5mm port

Can't say I'm noticed anything in the glove box but will double check

And what did they use? Sounds like theirs is the same as mine

Best bet is to buy a 64gb thumb drive and copy your music to that.
