    Hello,
Passenger strut in 151 Seat Leon leaking and handling a bit loose. Dealer going to replace it under warranty.

However they say they shall only replace one, whereas I though struts and shocks should always be replaced in pairs. What you think?

Let them replace the one under warranty and replace the second yourself out of your own pocket, they are only liable to replace one. I'm surprised they're even replacing one on a 3 year old car under warranty though, especially as they're generally wear and tear items.

Id always replace 2 but under manufacturer warranty they will regularly only replace one.

Pairs is good practise for suspension components to make sure wear is even.

Manufacturers warranty will only cover the failed component though, so in this case will only cover one shock. Their counter arguement is that with the car being relatively new, there won't be a huge imbalance as the other side hasnt seen much wear which is probably true.

The shocks in those are not great anyway, they are prone to leaking a bit.

Well it was notices a year back or so, but they were "monitoring" it, so I just made sure to go back before the 3 years were up.

You seem to know them - anything else to worry about?
(May post separately about DPF which is troubling me)
