    I would just like to say well done on voting to change the 8th amendment in a free democratic vote its certainly a historic occasion and will enter this country into a new peried. There can be no complaints from the no side the people have decided and decided yes from the looks of things they will just have to put their hands up and accept they were defeated in a free and fair democratic election.

    Well done indeed. I hope the exit polls are a true breakdown and the 8th is forever repealed. Why are there so many threads on this discussion disappearing - the moratorium doesn't go as far as online newsgroups AFAIK?

    Ah now, I know a fair few hardliners on the Pro-life side who changed their views over the past two weeks because of stories or families that opened up about past events. They'd still be pro-life but could deal with a 12 week proposal.
