Never mind that check out the peak period chart, there's a 0.42 to 0.5 m @ about 19 seconds swell about to hit the south coast, could be some great logging waves

Came up to the NW for the weekend for some surfing and yesterday it was completely flat (I know Saturday wasn't forecast to be peak swell, but I still expected to see SOMETHING)..... I felt like I'd gotten up on Christmas eve thinking it would be Christmas day, devistating! Hopefully we'll see something by this evening.

Hey Emptytree I hear ya pain, rule of thumb for me is to keep track of the swell and its direction so I'm always checking the navy wam wharts

    https://www.fnmoc.navy.mil/wxmap_cgi/cgi-bin/wxmap_single.cgi?area=ww3_atlantic&dtg=2018071418&prod=sgwvht&tau=012&set=SeaState

If there is any south in the swell direction its a bugger to get anything around sligo but for this purposes's of this thread I'm hoping for winds to play ball for tuesday.

And on another note Beryl has reformed so fingers crossed

Thanks Rodento. They're great links, I'll try some of those in future. I've always just been lazy about it and used MSW.

Debby has formed as a storm in the North Atlantic, in what can only be described as a very odd season

Ernesto formed in the North Atlantic, another strange one, due to pass Monday’ish

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,728 ✭✭✭rodento

More traditional storm forming, hope it’ll give us a decent track

Hurricane Florence is the third of the session and looking at the navy wams it's going to get busy over the next few weeks.

But hopefully not as busy as Sligo over the weekend :pac:

Nothing beats swapping waves with one other in the water:D:D:D

She is now a category 4 Hurricane and is forecast to be one till at least Monday, we’ll worth following the track of this one

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,728 ✭✭✭rodento

Should have three hurricane's in the Atlantic on monday, one has to deliver :confused::confused:

Worth keeping an eye on Helene, looks like she'll be arriving from the south on tuesday/wednesday.

    https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/refresh/graphics_at3+shtml/144323.shtml?cone#contents

At which point the atlantic is starting to look very very interesting

Hoping Helene will send something tasty up the Irish Sea :D
