Decking higher than doors

We're adding a decking to the house, it will be accessible via patio doors.

There is a small issue I'm having regrading the design of the decking, as it will also span over to a detached double garage, I'm using this as a games room and plan to some day raise the floor to the level of the house, but this is not an option at the moment.

How stupid would it look to have steps out of the garage going up to the level of the decking? I've tried to find examples of this online so I can judge for myself, but it seems it hasn't been done, or was and looked so bad they were ashamed to post it online :D

Has anyone an example of such a decking, or any input on my dilemma 8-)

could you not slope it down?
what height difference is involved here

ps: title is misleading, perhaps edit it

“I can’t pay my staff or mortgage with instagram likes”.

  • The height difference is probably about a foot, slopping could be a solution, might be dangerous if wet though...

What would you edit the title to?

    Decking higher than door threshold

Decking is always dangerous when wet:
I staple on chicken wire when safety is crucial

Cant see a problem dont think it would look too peculiar, just want to be sure drainage is managed effectively at this point might be increase in rain water coming back at the wall from down the steps.

Presume you mean something like this but you will only have a foot to come up?

I would be of the opinion that you should avoid decking at all costs. Many are just tearing it out now. Its got a finite life and it is also very dangerous when wet. In some cases fairly unusable for certain parts of the year.

Its not the best climate for it. Personally i would never put it back in any house i own.
