Got planning for garage

Last week I was granted planning permission for a 10x8m garage. Double block built with one large gable end rolling door. 2 windows and normal door. Rendered on outside and basic wiring/lights. This will be built in the next 5 years however we don't even have z guess at what it would cost.

My wife is wanting me to get a contractor in to save the hassle of it all but I'm worried he will demand outrageous sums for this seeing as things have picked up again. Would there be much savings in going direct labour compared to a contractor?

At a guess going by my friends build in 2011 I was hoping for 15k finished. Would this be wishful thinking?

I would treble it! 80 sq meter garage is a chunk! Even direct labour it's tough to see change from 40k.

15 grand wouldn’t see the ground work out. 55/60 grand more realistic.

Have to agree with the above. 15k won’t get you near finished.

    Is rendered steel an option?

    Less weight, cheaper groundworks.

As part of my build, the garage is priced at €23k. 5x10m one roller door one regular door one window, twin wall cavity, felted and slated, raft foundation, uninsulated. There is most likely economy of scale as house is being built at the same time.

Been quoted 25k for a 10x6m one roller door, twin wall uninsulated etc..
