New 12v battery for Leaf

So we went to the Leaf this morning and it was dead.

Put the 12v battery on the charger and it was flat. Either we left the car powered up, or else the battery is on its way out.

Currently on the trickle charge now, but will always be in the back of my mind now that the battery could leave us stranded.

So, anyone recommend a battery that suits?

Whatever you do. don't buy the one that micks garage suggest based on your reg.
Doesnt fit physically in the car, different size, and the terminals are different size to the aperture of the connections on the car.

They wouldnt refund me so I ended up using it in a different source.

    Dont go to Nissan.....

I got one recently for my mothers guy but bought via a "guy" who works for a "company" :P

So not much more advice I can give

from the looks of it Nissan put sh*t batteries into their cars, every Nissan me or my family has owned we had to change the battery. After 2 years the Qashqai I had from brand new the battery went in it.....

    Nissan/Renault....same crap :P

So far my family has had Primera, 2 x Qashqai and 1 x Leaf....every single one of them had to have batteries replaced under the standar 7 years which a bettery is supposed to last

My Qashqai was 2012 and battery replace in 2014 with 20k km on it

My parents was 141 and had maybe 35k km and replaced in 2016

Leaf is 12(i think) but only 40k km on it I think and again battery replaced....

Would this battery fit the Leaf?

    https://www.micksgarage.com/d/car-batteries/products/1088896/yuasa-ybx3012-battery-012-2-year-warranty

Based on information from amazon and ebay it looks to be compatible.

So I have another potential worry now.

I let the battery charge for a few hours and reconnected it. Car powered up fine, I tried to move it to a better position and it felt like the brakes were on as car very slow to move.

Powered it down and powered it up again, and this time there were a few new warning lights on the dash that weren't on the previous time.

So I have it down again now, battery out and hooked up to charge all night and see what happens in the morning.

Anyone else have anything like this after the switched out the battery?

Sounds like the battery was still not good enough.

Go to Halfords. For peace of mind, have them fit it, as sometimes they can be awkward/difficult to fit. I changed my 2012 Leaf battery with a new one from halfords. IIRC, it wasn't just a simple swap....I think terminal size was wrong on the halfords brand one, so had to change it.

I got the YUASA 5000 battery. 5 year guarantee. 48Ah 430A and fit it myself easy enough. It was just the inconvenience of getting the wrong one to begin with...which was a recommended one.

    Something like this

Just to add to the mix could you add a Li-Ion one ?
