The future of radio may well be digital, but it won't survive on DAB

As regards listening via the smart phone,I do that all the time in my car in Sligo where the Vodafone 4G coverage is good.I usually listen to Radio Nova,BBCs,Absolute and Planet Rock as the local FM output is not appealing to me and the data usage is not too bad!

Thankfully the DAB racket never took off in Ireland.

Money should be spent on further FM expansion, not DAB expansion (if we are putting money into broadcast radio expansion that is)

Indeed! Looks like Data will kill the Radio Star!

Or radio will kill itself if the bland, soulless networked rubbish as in the UK is the best that is on offer.

Sad to see in a city like Liverpool fantastic stations like Radio City and Juice FM being turned into what they are becoming (or in Juice FM's case, have become).
