Garmin golf watch

Hi all. I'm just wondering if someone could help me out a little here. I have owned a Garmin S3 approach golf watch for a good few years now. As normal, I received the notification requesting update around 6 weeks ago. I performed the update via Garmin express as usual. However now when I arrive at the course it is taking an absolute age to locate. For example today I was halfway down the third hole before it finally kicked in and located the course I was on. When I visited a different club around two weeks ago, it only started to work after I already had 7 holes played. This is happening at every round now, it's not just random. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Is it just that the watch is old and I need to purchase a more modern model?

I have an S1 which is probably much older and it locates the satellite in probably less than a minute. Maybe connect it to your computer again and see can you re-load the new software on it.

Thanks lads. I think I'll give the master reset a go..... It's got to be worth a try. I presume then that I'll have to re-update the watch again??

It always takes a bit longer to load a course if it was not the last course you were at..... Or if like me, you left your Garmin on while you went home.
But 7 holes.... No way, some sort of problem there. Ive seen it take up to 5 minutes but that would be tops.

Actually just realised it might be a bit different for a watch, I've got an actual GPS unit.
