How could I connect a water pump into a reservoir with a float?

Normally there is meant to be a gravity based reservoir beside the humidifier; but I want to stick to one main reservoir, running a longer pipe a few meters; without the gravity aspect - thanks

lift the dehumidifier until it is high enough

    My bad: misread it

i mustn't have been clear. I have a water reservoir located near my house with multiple outputs. I want to run one of these outputs to the humidifier located in a greenhouse - roughly 5 metres away.

The humidifier is on the same level as the reserviour so I can't use gravity. The only way to move the water would be via a water pump that once it senses mild pressure coming back, it switches off - any such thing?

You could use one of the small flow sensing pumps used in Quad sprayers etc .which will shut down against a closed valve and restart when flow is detected.Shurflo is one manufacturer.

    been reading up on this.
it seems that I need a vacuum pump - but one where it automatically adjusts to the gravity/pressure (pressure very very low) of the small 4mm water drip line.

by the way I intend to use a 19mm pipe from the reservoir to the humidifier (the humdifier holds about 2 litres of water before the float closes the valve. However that 19mm pipe is stepped down to 4mm just before the reservoir....it doesn't need to be done that way though, but it's the only thing I can think of...

Anyone know if such a thing is available regarding vacuum pump? Thanks for that T5180.

Why not just put a ball valve in the humidifier tank and feed it from a pump with a pressure switch, probably also need a pressure vessel.

You could even just use a pump on a timer to pump water to a higher tank which overflows back to the water reservoir. That gives you a head of water that can be used to fill your humidifier tank.

Thanks my3cents, I like that idea...I'll just put a small 25l reservoir for the humidifier in the greenhouse then.
