Ok the title might sound harsh

Basically i bought 4 tickets to ed sheeran for last wed in phoenix park , they never arrived , now i bought them in july last year so no excuses for the delay , i always used the fast print option when buying tickets but no option of this with these tickets ( touting etc ) despite a shed load of calls to ticketmaster i could not get hold of anybody and i know quite a few people this has happened too , i commented on their numerous facebook ads and mailed aitken promotions etc , not one reply despite spending €352 on 4 tickets , i know some will say why not go to box office at gig ( but thats not what i payed for , i payed to have them delivered 10 months ago ) surely they can’t get away with this sort of thing.

No email from them to state delay etc

Advise please as this has infrindged on my consumer rights i feel and i won’t be letting this go

I've had tickets not turn up before, I just called them and they issued me e-tickets.

I'd no problem getting through, though I was on hold for a while and I think they closed for lunch.

AFAIR all their T&C's & FAQ's etc say that if you haven't received your tickets 48 hours before the gig to call them.

Don't think you'll have much luck unless you can show that you made reasonable attempts to contact them in the 48 hours before the gig.

You probably just didn't know how to operate their phone system.
I presume you went to the gig in the end anyway?
You can't sue ticketmaster, you wouldn't be capable of that.

Use the small claims court to recoup the cost of the tickets.

How would i even go about starting this process

How is it that whenever you ring these helplines they are always "experiencing an unusually high volume of calls"? Do they not know what the word "unusual" means?

OP, you didn't get the tickets you paid for, and the mechanism that the seller provided for sorting out such problems didn't work.

Write, don't call, to the promoters setting out as concisely as you can the facts, attaching evidence that you paid for the tickets and a copy of any receipt or confirmation of payment that you got at the time, explaining that you tried repeatedly to use their phone service as directed but it was non-functional. Don't vent or emote, but if you suffered embarassment because, e.g. you had to disappoint people you had invited, say so. Ask for a full and immediate refund plus their proposals to compensate you for distress and inconvenience, and say that if you don't hear from then within 14 days you will institute proceedings. Send the letter by registered post. Keep a copy.

If you don't hear from them, bring a claim under the small claims procedure, which you can read about here.

Realisticallly, all you are likely to get is the return of your money, plus maybe a token gesture from the promoters, like a voucher for future purchases.

Without trying to sound obtuse OP.

You paid over 300 Euro, and decided not to go even though you were fully aware you could pick the tickets up before the gig at any point...

I would take a punt and say you never really wanted to go and changed your mind.

    thoughts ?

How do we know that the tickets were available to be collected before the gig?

    Honestly ?

I did at the start as i was taking my 7 year old , but then realised im not carrying a 7 year old on my shoulders as i had standing seats , point is if they delivered as promised id have given them to family as i had a few lined up who’d go

Regardless whether i wanted to or not is beside the point , i PAID for these 10 months ago , and i couldnt get through to these at all , ive never been to any box office for gigs as i usually print these off

My transaction was for €352 for 4 tickets to be posted out and they didnt do as was contracted by sale , i’ve found a few people on facebook who this has happened to and we are all gonna be sending these letters

So basically you couldn't have cared less then.

    Okay got it .

Now you want to sue a company. I dislike Ticketmaster as much as the next person with their admin charge's etc but the premise of your action seems flawed.

You could have emailed customer services, they would have cancelled the original tickets if they were lost in post or whatever. They then would have sent you an email with pdf tickets which contain the bar code and you simply printed these off ,presented them at the gig to gain entry. As simple as that because I did it last Thursday for the Sat gig. Absolutely no problems a very simple procedure once I verified my credit card details... last 4 digits. By the way ... gig was fantastic. Good luck with suing a multi national ..

I'm just exploring the possibility that they weren't on the Ticketmaster system. There must be some error along the line seeing as they weren't posted out.

Who gives a toss if i wanted to go or not

I tried to retrieve the tickets by calling them 53 times in 5 days before gig , couldnt find any email address for ticketmaster either , i mailed aitken promotions etc , spammed their facebook ads with requests for call backs etc

I don't buy this at ll. I went to the Wednesday gig. I realised Monday when I went to print my tickets (i always choose print myself) that they had sent them to my old address hence i couldn't get them or print them.

I rang at 3pm Monday and had an email with a reissue copy of the tickets for printing 15 minutes after talking to a agent.

I rang once, went on hold and took no longer than the average call to customer support. In fact, they had a big FAQ on the Ed Sherian gigs with the first question on the list "My tickets haven't arrived yet" with the number to call. Was the first result on Google.

So, you either rang the wrong number 53 times, didn't really try that hard or honstly, something is a miss with your story. I'll keep an eye on the papers for how much your court costs were in favour of tickermaster :)

    So cheers all
