    Hi,

My brother just had a 2016 Touareg stolen from his drive way about 2 weeks ago, i think they must have got access to the OBD port and started it.

I have just bought a new car (audi a5 black edition:cool:), and on the back of above i'm thinking of bolstering the security of the car up abit. Ive already bought a steering wheel lock, but im looking for any advice re a product called an "OBD portector".

    http://www.logicautomotive.ie/product/obd-portector/

Has any had any experience with something like above ? Is it worth the trouble etc.

    Any advice appreciated.

Ehm... wont they just find the device then if its popular, just get a range extender sorted out for them too? You're better off thinking about where you keep your keys and potentially moving the port itself.

There is a pocket with a foil screen you place your key fob into. Not sure if they are any good?

Basically i just want to restrict access to the ODB port, maybe a manual lock like the following would be a better approach

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/security-device-connector-prevent-keyless/dp/B00XPP6P6K/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1527027776&sr=8-2&keywords=obd+lock

Im not too keen about removing fuses etc as im too sure where it would be and id be concerned that could i end up "breaking" something.
