Roaming Data Issue

I'm in France and am having issues with my roaming data. It's barely available and the odd time it is it cuts off after 5 minutes. I have my phone set to international roaming and have a 6GB allowance when abroad. I'm an ex-Meteor customer. Any ideas?

PS: The international customer care helpline is not functional. The voice asks you to press one, but when you do it says "I'm sorry, I'm having difficulty understanding you" and cuts you off after your second attempt. I've also been on chat twice, warned them my data will cause the chat to be dropped and requested a call-back with no joy. Beyond frustrating!

    Hi FurBabyMomma,

I'm sorry to hear about the issues you are having with your roaming. This is more than likely an issue with the network you're connecting too and unfortunately, we have no control over this. It would also depend on where you are located.

The networks we recommend that you connect too are - ORANGE FRANCE, SFR FRANCE and BOUYGUES TELECOM FRANCE

    Thanks

I'm connected to Orange France and my phone signal is fine so don't understand why the data isn't. And we're doing a lot of traveling around Northern France and it's the same everywhere I go. Data drops after a couple of minutes even through I can make and receive calls fine on the Orange network.

My signal went dead while writing this and I'll now have to sit around for another 10-15 minutes for it to come back for another 5 to post this. Surely the explaining can't be that roaming is this terrible in all of northern France?

I should have mentioned my husband is also ex-Meteor and not having the same issues even when sat right next to me. He can use his data, Google maps, etc.

    Hi FurBabyMomma ,

If this is the case then there may be an issue with your handset or sim card.

I would reccomend trying your sim in your husbands phone and getting him to try his sim in yours.

This will narrow down where the issue is.

    Thanks

    Thomas
