So I accidentally left the lights on in the car for a few hours and now the car won't start unless I put my foot down on the clutch. Do I need to charge up the battery?

Not true. All stop start models do AFAIK. I've a GTI and don't need to put foot on clutch

Well if that’s the case maybe 90 percent of them do. Any one I ever worked on required u to press the clutch to start them.
