Are there any reliable Wireless Set Transmitters?

We are in the process of completely remodeling out living room, and the TV will go from literally one end of the room to the other. Running the existing cabling across the room is not an option. Moving the whole TV point is a major operation according to our Electrician, as he will have to lift the floor in the bedroom(s) above the Livingroom to do so. And as we only recently put down new Hardwood flooring in the bedroom it is an absolute  no-goer, according to the wife.

We have a smart TV that has all the Catch up Apps and a well working IPTV connection, which means that we will actually manage fine without a real SAT connection. But in the back of my head I am still trying to figure out an alternative backup solution for times when maybe Wifi doesn't work or maybe is not performing as expected etc. So I have been looking at wireless transmitters that could relay the signal from the existing TV point to the new one. But it's old Technology, and going by some reviews there doesn't seem to be a single system that works really well. But as most of the reviews I found are quite old I was wondering if maybe someone knows any product  that maybe has developed more recently that would make this more reliable and/or feasible.

    Any suggestions welcome.

    Thanks,
    DubDani
