Changing first name by deed poll

My original name (which is on all my legal and official documents) has a different spelling to the one I use and have used on a regular basis since I was about 10. 10 year old me just took it upon myself to change the spelling by 1 letter.
Now everyone who knows me personally spells it the new way, but I want to change it officially.
Does anyone have any experience just changing the spelling of their first name by 1 or 2 letters? Or is it worth it at all?
I’m getting my undergrad degree next year and I want my name to be spelled the new way. All my official college stuff at the minute is in the old name.

Even if you get your deed poll organised by the time you register for your final year - have you asked the college if they will issue a degree in a different name to the name you registered in first year?

Fairly sure once I have the deed poll I just contact them with the deed poll and the change the name on the records.
And it doesn’t take that long I’m told.

Changing your name by deed poll is easy. I have done it but think of all the other documents you have to change eg passport, d licence, public service card etc and you can never change your birth cert.
