Just wondering if anyone could recommend my best bet at finding a non-see through white shirt for a wedding? I have a tattoo on my upper arm, and would rather it wasn't visible. Is cotton my best bet? I've seen M & S mentioned as having good quality cotton shirts

Yeah, you want something with a decent weight, to be honest I have white cotton shirts (I get mine from an online made to measure place though, so not in stores) and you can't see my arm tattoo. M&S do decent shirts.

You could also think about putting some makeup on it, under the shirt. Sounds daft but even if you take the design down a notch (doesn't have to be 100% covered over) that'll help.

Just don't go somewhere cheap - dunnes and pennets etc do quite flimsy shirts.

You could try somewhere like TM Lewin and actually ask a salesperson for help. They'll sort you out.

My husband got his wedding shirt for Louis Copeland and you definitely couldn't see a thing. I would try one of the higher end places and try them on in the shop you'll definitely know then if the shirt will cover.

I bought a paul costelloe one in Dunnes a couple of weeks back. With the rug i need a good quality thick material (without being too warm) and it fit the bill.

I have a few white TM Lewin shirts as well, definitely not see through. Not sure where you're based, but House of Fraser in Dundrum stock them, and I think they've a shop near Grafton St as well.
