OH wants a mini, and is looking at 2014 or newer (the new model).

I am aware that the previous model had some issues but just wondering if anyone has experience with the current model?

Options are either 40000km on the clock from an independent with 3 month warranty
    or
higher 80-90000 from a main dealer for about €1k extra but has a 2 year warranty...

not doing high mileage at all so not concerned on that front.

    thanks

On the second one - how close is it to the mileage on the warranty?

    2 year unlimited mileage warranty

Didn't know Mini did that. The indo's warranty is going to be worth next to nothing in most cases.

It's the same car warranty that BMW dealers stick on their approved used cars, MINI being built and sold by BMW.

I'd definitely pay the extra for the car with the 2 year warranty, as it's a main dealer they'll have to honour it and won't try to get out of anything like some other dealers might.

The mileage is still relatively low anyway - most cars should be able to do at least three times the mileage of it provided they're looked after.

Is there any particular reason for looking at a 1.2 Mini One rather than the Cooper with its larger and rather more powerful 1.5 turbo engine? The Ones are quite basic and if you're bothered by performance, I'd say they're fairly anaemic as well. The Cooper model will be more desirable to sell on as well because of the extras it has.
