A lot of trailers for sale on website's i am sure they are a few stolen for sale, anyway of checking these trailers serial numbers would hate to hand over cash to some scumbag who is handling stolen goods.

Why would you buy a trailer if you think it's stolen, different if you didn't know when you bought it.
Buy of a good dealer for the same money and you'll get a good backup.

Jeez I dunno would anyone be brazen enough to put a stolen trailer up, wouldn't DD be the first place anyone who had a trailer stolen would Check?

I bought a tipping trailer recently on Donedeal. The guy selling it wouldn't let it out of the yard till the cheque cleared. Hard to blame him. He said he knew loads of lads that got caught with cheques and drafts bouncing.
If you are buying on Donedeal, make sure you go to the guys place. You'll know from talking to him if he's a farmer. Ask him about the fodder crisis....:D
The amount of stuff being bought and sold on Donedel now is unreal. I've bought and sold on it myself 3 times in the last week.

They are actually putting up pictures of other people’s trailers for sale and then stealing and selling them straight on. I had one stolen and sold through dd and cops wouldn’t do anything. Looking back I wouldn’t get the cops involved again if I seen it.

Should they be able to produce some proof of ownership

Take a picture of the person selling. Also ask to see a drving licence or passport and photo that too.

Get the chassis number and ask a main dealer to run it through their computer base. Crowd in naas did it for me

Most of the robbed stuff is coming from the UK and visa versa the other way. Was looking at dd and decided a new murphy instead

Spoke with ifor crowd in Naas about tanks a few weeks ago, they said there is no regulation coming in that states you must have a tank on a trailer.

    Befriend them on Facebook too.
