Anyone know how much I could get for a small car if I sell it to a scrappage yard?
Not looking for exact figures, just to have an idea if it is at all possible and how much I can expect to be paid for it.

It might be worth taking the wing mirrors off and trying to sell on line. There’s always a markets out there for little things like that

My 06 ford focus diesel is starting to have turbo problems plus it needs about 800 worth of repairs in suspension etc just to get through the NCT next month.

Is it worth just bringing it to a scrapyard for 60 euro? Or is there any other good way to get more money for it?

Im sure its worth a few hundred euro since it would have some useful parts in it and people are selling them with NCTs for 2000 on done deal.

You need to consider how long that would take.

I recently scrapped a 2004 e46, for 101.30. I could have spent 8-10 weeks trying to sell it at around 500 euro.

Your NCT is up and it'll cost quite a bit to get it by the sounds of things. It's only really worth paying up if you are looking to keep it. You can make a bit more selling parts of it. But it'll take a long time to do so. If you've nowhere to park it privately, it'll still need tax and insurance. Are all those outlays going to be worth it for you along with the time taken to get the parts off the car?

@snowstreams. Unless you're willing (and able) to strip parts off it yourself then the realistic option is scrapping it.
You could stick it up on Donedeal for €250 with a list of the issues, and see if anyone offers more than €150........

I auctioned an old honda civic a few years ago that failed an NCT and got 700 for it. Though it was newer than this one so i was hoping to get a few hundred.

I am going to drive it up until the NCT expires.
At that point I will still have 2 months of tax left on it.
That alone would be worth about 100 euro if I could claim it back upon scrappage, (as long as you can claim back a month or two worth of tax?)
Then if the scrapyard gave me 100 more, id have gotten 200 for the car which isnt too bad.

Has to be 3 full months of tax left.
