Long spin and the Heat was unreal. The talks were good and it was nice to see the stock

That's some logic. I was expecting some criticism of Teagasc.

To be honest I don’t research teagasc enough to form a criticism of it. The miraculous zero mortality rate at every event is a sight to behold and pushing the dairy bred heifers I believe is nonsense. I sold 3 outfits yesterday 2012, 2013 and 2015 cows with red lim bull calves about 8-10 weeks old. Averaged £1726 stg. If I’d gone with the dairy cross I’d have been getting maybe 1100.

Dairy bred heifers are used for their advantage in milk production, suckler farmers are finding they're breeding milk out of their sucklers now.
Don't know if 650kg -850kg cows is the way to go either.....needs a special type of land to in the present rainfall amounts.

    I’d prefer the continental cow.
So all roads lead to Meath then you’re all attending?

I think if you're selling as weanlins then the dairy cross cows just won't give the style needed to get decent money . But on the other hand too good of a continental cow tends to be slack in the milk department alot of the time .
We need to get the curve ball of a cow that will give style and enough milk to bring on the calf .

That’s it. A good R grade sort of a cow that’s fit to do any job and has a bit of lasting ability as well

The holy grail. Maybe its time for an AI company to offer a hybred bull?
    Dairy simmentalcross red angus anyone?
Though Grange was worth the trip anytime I was there

Simmental/blonde cross. Perfect for cows for the weanling seller
