I think the solicitor is being pedantic.

I live on an unregistered lane and my solicitor pointed it out to me and just asked if I was happy with the very very slight risk it posed.

    14 years later, zero issue.

Tell the solicitor that you understand the very slight risk and are happy to proceed.

My thoughts exactly guys. Thanks so much.

Paying rent and mortgage at the same time is criminal.

I'm happy with the road and the neighbours are all decent people so I'm very happy to take the risk.

I was just wondering is it illegal to close with this issue. Does it void contracts or any of that malarkey??

Also, can i just demand they close the sale?

Not illegal whatsoever. No issues unless you're a pedantic solicitor.

I had one insist on having water from a tiny stream tested once - in a totally unspoilt area of the country. It came back as near drinking water quality.

    Great stuff guys.

I've sent an email today saying it needs to close on Monday.

I can't imagine a bank coming looking for a mortgage back. They did all their checks before the gave out the money surely??
