    Hi all
I just moved into my new (to me) home . I got Virgin broadband install but can't justify a TV package at the moment. I just got a Sony Android TV that has Netflix and other apps etc
And It said Irish digital ready

I'd like to get the free to air channels Irish and UK.
The house is wired for coax in every room 3 bedrooms, sitting room, kitchen and one cat 5e at the some point.
I could pull the kitchen coax cable and cat5 cable if needed into the sitting room as there back to back and don't see me having a TV in the kitchen any time soon if ever.
All the coax go to the attic

At the moment we are only using one bedroom with a TV and the main sitting room

What options do I have, I'd like good quality equipment buy once cry once. And we're do I buy it from.
I'm very handy so a DIY is very likely

Thanks for reading (all the waffle )

How many co-ax to each TV point?
Do you have an aerial and dish installed?

Combi TV or STB at each TV point is one option. Satellite and Saorview feed down 1 cable.

For the sitting room a Freesat recorder, 2 satellite co-ax required with Saorview combined down the cables.

For multiple TV points a multiswitch in the attic, fed from a quad or quattro LNB on the dish and a terrestrial aerial, to combine satellite and terrestrial signal down all cables and split at the TV points. Lots of discussion on multiswitches here on the forum, do a search.

No aerial or dish. The bedrooms have one coax the sitting has one but I can pull a 2nd coax to make it 2 coax at the sitting room point

Your Sony Anrdroid TV most likely has a satellite tuner as well as Saorview, so you won't need a seperate satellite receiver for whatever room that's in. Some of the Android models even had 2 satellite tuners (and twin DTT) for recording.

That's the main TV the less box's etc in there the better. There a record feature but you need a hard drive if I see one cheap I might pick one up some day.
