Finding companies that promote remote working

    Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has any advice on how to find Irish-based companies that would be open to (or actively promote) remote working? I'm a programmer and just wondering if there's an easy way to figure out who would be open to it...

    Thanks in advance!

The problem isn't working from home, its being trusted enough that they don't care where you are. That usually takes a while to kick in and its not usually advertised.

From what I gather, most tech multinationals and many dev jobs will offer some amount of remote working (1-2 days a week in the good ones, or at least the odd day here and there for the rest). 100% remote working though seems less common. As Cuddlesworth said its down to trust. A dev friend of mine was allowed to remote work full time for his Dublin company, and moved to Spain full time to enjoy the weather and lifestyle on his Dublin wage. But that took 2 or 3 years of working in the office to get trusted enough and senior enough to do it.

Or you could look into day-rate contracting.

Can I ask why you're limiting yourself to Irish based companies?

One of the biggest advantages of remote working is the company can be anywhere.
