House is 15 months old, i cant remember if this was always the case but if you look at this pic you can see there is what looks like a stain on the gable wall, like a large section of it is wet, its not wet to touch and there is no pipework apparently on that side of the house?

Very poor picture but it looks to me like someone cleaned the brick with a pressure washer around the gate and just above it perhaps to get building debris off it. Then the rest of the gable was left as is.

If you look as closely as the pic allows the difference is by the brick, clean lines along the building joints, i dont think washing would be that regular.

different brick batches is what i thought as well, we were supposed to have windows and then that got changed late in the planning so they may well have started to build, stopped and then used another batch of brick

Were the bricks sealed with chemical? It usually comes out white but it might have some bearing...
More than likely, and this is my opinion, all those bricks came from the same pallet. Bricks should be mixed up because newer bricks will stand out against older and differently shaded bricks. Was always told to really mix brick stacks as a labourer, for this reason.

not sure if sealed or not, but in the absence of any discernable moisture your assumption makes the most sense to me

Looks to me, simply, like different batches of brick (with no thought to mixing/blending).

Could be & i thought i saw the wall move as well! Seriously though looks like bricks were not mixed from different pallets. I was also told take bricks from different pallets many years ago!
