    Hi
I have an ongoing issue with coolant loss in my C22cdi.

From looking around mb forums it seems to be an issue with a plastic pump, fuel filter housing.

The symptoms are a little strange; the loss only occurs (AGAIK) when car is cooling after a long spin and it doesn't happened everytime. For example yesterday I drove about 240km parked up at 5pm and coolant was ok at 8pm. This morning it was after leaking about 200ml.

It seems to be leaking near front of engine, I thought it was through cap in expansion tank (as there was residue) and I replaced it, but made no difference.

Any ideas or recommendation for a good independent mechanic in Cork/Waterford/South Tipp area

    Any advice appreciated

This will be the fuel filter housing unit. It has a couple of coolant pipes going onto it. Quite a common problem on the 220 engine. That and also the water pump also losses coolant on them another common problem. But if it’s up the top it’s the fuel filter housing
