    .....but I need help.
I fancy having a crack at the three-legged 1 mile world record which currently stands at 7:50. I’m looking to recruit a sub 6 min, left footed miler preferably located on the eastern seaboard.
If I can find a suitable partner we can fine tune our technique around the highly competitive school sports day scene with a view to setting up an attempt at the sheltered Charlesland track, Greystones.
This offer is open to bought male and female athletes but the sub 6 mile must be verified as I don’t want anyone taking the piss.

I couldn’t think of a worse way to spend 6 minutes.

The record stands at 12 3/5 seconds set in 1906 by Harry Hilman and Lawson Robertson. They still hold a few records I’ve the sprint distances.

You dont have much imagination(Ed Sheeran, for example, plays for many multiples of 6 minutes)but I do agree in general with your sentiment.

Thats actually seriously impressive. Its a different level completely to the mile record which is surprisingly ****e. Usualy these recordshave been polished up by some sad lonely but extremely athletic Japanese lads.

Yes, the mile record is crap alright and is there for the taking.

This event would make far better viewing than race walking with the added bonus of half the kids in this country having already experienced it.
