Selling house/council not yet taken development in charge

    Hi all,
    New to this particular corner of boards, but hopefully one of the people here knows something about this situation.
    We're in the process of selling our house, and it turns out that the council haven't yet taken the development (it's a small one, about 15 years old) in charge.
    The developer isn't responding to our calls to get a copy of his public liability indemnity insurance, as requested by our solicitors.
    I was wondering if this is a common occurrence, if we have any other recourse here, or if it's reasonable to hope/expect that the buyer will be able to agree to the purchase without this?
    The people in the house we're hoping to buy are putting pressure on us to sign contracts reasonably quickly as they are under time pressure themselves, so we'd need to act relatively quickly here.

    Does anyone on this Board have experience or knowledge (or opinions!) on this situation at all?

    Bought a house in these circumstances last year, identical scenario. AIB didn’t make an issue of it.

    Thanks - it'll be up to the buyer, so. Can't see why they'd have a problem with it, but if your solicitor and bank didn't, you'd hope that they won't either.
