Hi all, took a very long break from airsoft, 5 years almost! A few of my friends have decided to drag me back into it but I’m strapped for cash. I spotted an stg 44 on this website https://shop.strato.de/epages/61431412.sf/sec76022f5b37/?ObjectPath=/Shops/61431412/Products/40002

I’m just wondering does anyone know if I’ll have trouble importing it to Ireland? The gun is 0.5 joule so therefore not a firearm, and far below the usual energy output for airsoft guns here. I’ve had friends order and successfully import from eu countries before but has anyone done so recently? Any help here would be greatly appreciated
    Cheers!

You should get it in ok, but afaik airsoft guns in Germany are modified to permanently remove the full auto option.

0.5J is a huge disadvantage. Even conservative VSRs at 280fps are 0.72J and they've a huge accuracy bonus. Really 0.8J is the minimum you should consider.

The gun itself fires fully automatic, my plan was to have the internals upgraded over here to bump the energy output to 0.8-0.9, I believe sg airsoft do this regularly for a cheap enough price
