Can anyone give me a ballpark figure to replace a cluch in my 05 mini I am thinking of selling but feel I should get the cluch fixed first or reduce the asking price to cover the cost.
    thanks

Check with 4 different local mechanics/clutch shops for quotes

Clutch would probably be €500+ assuming it’s a petrol

Hi in this case we have done quite a few of them in our place maybe to many because we do all bmws. But I can tell u this who ever said 500 is having a laugh. Firstly the whole front of the car has to come off everything. The the engine and gearbox removed. Only then can u strip the engine and gearbox to replace the clutch.

And to be honest finding 4 different places that have done clutch’s on minis is going to be a bit hard. I only done one as a nixer afew weeks ago if u want to know how much I did it for in that regard to give u a idea pm me.

But I can tell u this any garage that knows what there talking about and has done them will be costing you a lot. There’s at least 15 hours labor in it for someone that’s done them before.

If its a 1.6 petrol theres a good bit of work but 8 hours is plenty to replace clutch on them. front of and subframe of but its all designed to come apart pretty ok.

Looks Daunting at first but it's not a bad job. Find a garage that has done a mini clutch before, as far as I remember the engine didn't have to come out. About 600 would be right

Engine doesnt have to be removed cant see how there would be any benefit whatsoever , front removed , subframe with p/s unit removed , after that pretty straightforward.
