    hello,
thinking of wilting the grass this season and considering a wuffler/grass conditioner, as most tedders and rakes are single purpose machines and also quite expensive. I make about 400 bales and would be interested in any views regarding the machines. close to the atlantic so no shortage of wind/rain.

Is a wuffler not a single purpose machine also?

I was just making a point that the wuffler was a single purpose machine same as tedder as the OP stated

I meant single purpose in the sense that it kept the swath in a row rather than having to make two passes with different machines. but point taken

If you want to hear all views?....

Any wufflers around here (southeast) have all been retired bar one or two old ones hanging on in favour of ted out and rake in.
Much faster wilt with ted and rake and faster baling.

Wilters or wufflers are very popular here in west cork. Yes, we are a lot more exposed than lads up the country so get the wind to dry out the swarth. Find them a good job, and one less job than tedding and raking. They definitely help out alot in in getting better quality silage.

any difference between trailed or 3 point linkage models.

Ive only ever seen the 3 point linkage one in operation. They take a small bit of getting used to when going around corners, but one hour and you'd have it mastered
