It's not the exact same use case as the law intended, but I think we should be able to revert old posts to "Anonymous" either with one click or individually.

A mass delete option for older posts should exist as well.

With the ease at which things can be shared on social media like Facebook, this site should give people control back. Loads of people in real life know my account on here, and I'd like the option to erase my past.

Go back in time and stop boards from ever been created. That's your problem solved

    Who are you?

I used to own a domain I posted on the web dev forum. If you had looked at the whois back then, you'd know my name, address, and phone number.

If I still owned it, I'd want to be able to delete that post.

Some threads would just end up with someone called "Anonymous" arguing with themselves!

So ask to have the post deleted. AFAIK the office is fine with requests for individual posts on good reason.

I don't know what your concerned about. Your profile nick here isn't connected to your real identity.

I wouldn't worry about it. Most of the regular posters on here are in their 70s and this entire site will be forgotten about soon enough when they die off.

True story, site was founded by a bunch of menopausal Quake players after all. Very well known story.
