overseas & miss my dog.....

I know this sounds so ridiculous!
I got the opportunity last summer to work overseas for 12 months. extremely rare in my job.
I love it, I love being away, & I love the opportunity I have.
work is great, the experience is great.
but I miss my dog!! so much! I miss him more than my family & friends if I am honest.
I talk to my friends & family on the phone, we text etc. so maybe thats why?
I have only been back twice since last summer & my mam ( who is minding him for me) said he didn't settle for ages after I left, both times.
I am going home again next week, I don't know if it is fairer to the dog if I dont see him, or does it really matter?
He is getting older now, 10 years, I got him in the dogs home before he was 2, & we were always together before I left!

what do you think? is it fairer to him not to see me for a week? I will be back for good within the next 6 months.......I know it sounds kind of stupid,
but I don't worry about my 'humans' because they understand!!

I honestly have no idea, but how are you going to see your mam and being her house (assuming you are) without him seeing and smelling you?

Can you FaceTime or Skype the dog?
