I've been using Openvix for the last 18 months and regularly updated to the latest images but I've noticed recently (since 5.1 came out) the box has been getting very laggy. I'm on the latest 5.1.027 now and its no better. Reverting back to 5.0 versions makes it more stable but I'd like to stay current on whatever image I have.

I've not used any other images but wondering if anyone can recommend one that is well supported and stable? I know my way around enigma2 folders and I'm confident I can move my bouquets, plugins etc so it doesn't necessarily have to be based on the same sources.

Before you ditch Vix, maybe format the box and stick on the latest image clean, as opposed to update ontop of update. You would be surprised !!

If still no luck I like OpenPli

Openatv is very good on the vu+ boxes I'm using it on mine last 3 months and no issues whereas I was starting to have major issues before with openvix

Used blackhole the last 4 years. Very little problems with it. Haven't bothered changing

These have a fast cpu they shouldnt lag. Where are you storing epg, bouquet lists, picons, timeshift etc ?

Are they all on the one media source or flash ? Are you running IPTV plugins ?

My first suggestion would be to stick a usb in and dedicate it for picons rather than using the internal flash as its likely that if your source for reading is all the same that is where the clutter starts.

Alternatively try OpenPLi. I have found OpenATV the most bloated and prone to lock ups, mind you thats on a 750 meg processor with 128meg flash.

My et 10000 got that silly spinning vix as i used to see on my old duo,so reflashed and started from scratch again ,think it started by rebooting or network reboot as i dont do updates and only fresh installs.
