glass drilling

    hi,i want to drill 4 1/4 inch holes in a glass top from a coffee table to secure the legs,as the glue keeps giving way,the glass is about 3/8 inches thick,whats the best drill bit to use,?can it evan be done?thanks.

    It is lightly that the glass is toughened glass.and in turn it can not be drilled.my advise is getting a better UV glue that will not give way.what are the legs made from

    Yes, drilling glass is not a good idea. If anything you could try a test piece with a diamond core bit. HAvent tried it but might be an option.

    legs are metal,think ill ask the local hardware to recommend a glue,not sure if the glass is toughened:confused:

    The glass will almost certainly be toughened unless it’s a diy coffee table.

    Use Trans7 tanslucent sealant. I used it to bond a very heavy glass panel into my pond. It’s €15 a tube.....but maybe they do small tubes of it.

    Clean both surfaces with a blade and then spirits. Roughen the metal if you can with emery paper. Go to a car shop and get the kit used for bonding on the rear-view mirror buttons, usually comes with a spacing mesh, this should do the trick.
