    I have a 151 plate CR-V 1.6 Diesel AWD
Last service was done at 53k and one before that at 32k km

Both done by main dealers and basically when the system indicated to be done on the dash

last week the display flashed a code AB27 which from what I can make out means its due again, currently at 70k, so it seems a little early as from what I can make out in the service book or manual its every 20k km or 1 year

Looking through the owners manual they don't make it easy to understand what actually needs to be done here

On the page for the diesel models (where it says Except European Models) it has service at intervals of 20k km or 1yr whichever is first
However below this for engine oil & filter it says every 10,000km or 1 year for normal driving
Every 10k seems a little too frequent ??

Any Honda gurus out there got their enigma machine to crack the codes in these books?

To be fair every 10k for a oil and filter change is about right.

U wouldn’t need ur fuel filter changed every service or ur pollen filter.

But at roughly between every 10-12k your car should be serviced now it could just be a oil and filter change or it could be a full service.

Best check the service book and see what was fitted last. Also at 70k it’s due a fuel filter unless it’s got one on the previous service.

My Accord also has stupidly long service intervals, 20k or something like that, I do mine at 10k which is the interval for the rest of the world apart from Europe.
No engine ever died from having fresh oil in it its the lifeblood of the engine.
    Main Code
    A
    Replace just the Engine Oil
    Multi-point Inspection
Check condition and top all fluids
    Inspect & adjust tire pressure

    B
All of Code A, Plus oil filter replacement
Inspect Brakes, Check all hoses & lines, tie rod ends, gear box, CV boots, inspect suspension components, exhaust, and internal & external lamps

    Sub Code
    1
Tire Rotation, Inspect & adjust tire pressure, Inspect & measure brake pads and rotors
    2
Replace dust & pollen cabin filters, Replace engine air filter element, Inspect & adjust drive belts, Clean debris from air boxes
    3
Replace transmission fluid (drain & refill)
    4
Replace timing belt, drive belts, and water pump
    5
    Replace engine coolant
    6
    Replace rear differential fluid

That's where I am confused by the whole manual

It states 10k for oil change but surely the maintenance reminder will know when to flag the next service

Both times now it has been flagged after approx. 20k km, nothing in between

Some came with a SVRS system which was supposed to flag up servicing but mmany dealers disabled the system and instead use mileage.
IMHO, 20k is too long an interval, stick to fresh oil and filter every 10k and you will never have any issues.
Follow the shorter service intervals and you will be fine.
