    Hi all,
I'm currently in the process of planning a new build and one thing I can't decide on is the heating and hot water system. I am swaying twords air to water with ufh down stairs and rads up stairs. The house is 1700sqft.

We are opting out of bcms and we are still going to use the recommended insulation etc

What is everyone else using or have used?

This is a topic thats widely covered on boards.
I suspect most people wont reply to this thread because we have already discussed it several times.

Look over older threads you'll get a lot of info

IMO you have made a common accelerated first step by jumping straight to the " how do I create my heat" question before the "how can I minimise the heat I need". You say you'll meet the insulation requirements, but this is the minimum requirement you will need to meet for the mortgage anyway. You're better off in the long run trying to improve the efficiency of the design first with decent airtightnrss and insulation and only then start looking at heating solutions.
Best if luck with the build!
