Since Ryanair introduced their new policy on carry on baggage - if you don't opt to pay for bringing your bag on board is it taken from you at the gate or can you drop it at a check in desk?

Asking on behalf of a slightly mobility impaired person who isn't keen to drag it to the gate. Cheers.

you have to bring it through security all the way to the actual steps of the aircraft, where there'll be a trailer waiting where you can throw the bag into, from which the baggage handlers take it and put it in the hold.

Tell them to book assistance with OCS, the guys/girls will help them from check in all the way to the steps of the aircraft and help with bags too
