Ok folks, I'm setting myself a challenge as of today. It's to see how quickly I can get to a sub 20 5k by doing everything the right way. Training / Diet / sleeping etc.

I don't know what I am at at the moment time wise. I'm quite out of shape - weighing 13.5 stone so it's an interesting experiment. I think I will need to lose at least 2 stone to get near it but that will be an added incentive to get there.

No alcohol, no sugar, no treats until I hit that milestone.

I intend to measure progress using the local park run. I am not going to do one for 6 weeks until I get in some kind of shape. I plan to train every day but not always running. Some swimming and cycling too. It will take a lot of will power and sacrifice but it can be done.

    Let's do it.

I’ll be following this for the thread title alone.

What are you running now for a parkrun? And which parkrun?

    Best of luck with this.

Definitely following with a lot of interest. I'm hoping to go under 20 (and beyond) this summer.

    Seems a little nonspecific. ;)
