Plenty of people love to virtue signal but when met with the reality of the risks involved they often find it hard to put their families where their mouths are.

I'm sure Aodhan Ó Ríordáin and Katherine Zappone took in many, especially single men.
Zappone has a holiday home in Kerry, she surely would not deprive a poor war torn singleton with little english of the view

Yes I saw that and it is pretty shabby indeed. A great deal of thought is needed before making such a serious commitment and then you need to follow it through.

A Swedish family took in a refugee from somalia and he cut their 7 year olds daughters throat in the middle of the night

The majority of asylum seekers are young single males with questionable backgrounds, quite frankly it would be nuts to let one stay in your house.

I don't think it took a genius at the time to know it was never going to materialise.

Yeah , great idea. Let's bring in people who we know nothing about into our homes !!! Give them a tent and a lesson on how to pitch it

It worked out well for all concerned.

The migrant industry get their human commodity & cash.
The pledgers get go feel satisfied with themselves

    Win-win

Plus, that Syrian 21yr old fellow will be able to return home, seeing as ISIS is almost defeated.

Zappone was so positive about bringing them in I’m sure she has a houseful of them and someone above in the thread says she has a holiday home so lots of space there too for them.

Follow through is for the plebs.
Virtue signalling is for the wealthy elites.

Bob is busy building the extension on Gary Lineker's gaff for Gary's flock of migrant children

The Red Cross ad which prefaces this as a govt of Ireland initiative, seeking a spare room or a spare house.

If the govt are gonna bring them in let them house them.

Those parents should be up on charges for endangering the life of their 7 year old daughter.

It has turned into a sick society in sweden.

Wish he had. Another truly insufferable pontificating bellend.

All eyes on Kursk. Slava Ukraini.

    Do gooders again.

Let’s give everyone who wants a house a house regardless of personal responsibility etc.

    Idiots.

If I've read correctly the attacker's name was Daniel- i.e. almost certainly Christian.

Fair play to RTE for having a follow up on the pledge.

Perhaps those people who pledged had time to think about it and thought - no - that's a terrible idea.

No room at Lily's Inn, over in fancy Notting 'Ill:

LILY ALLEN has declared there's no space for refugees at her luxury Notting Hill flat despite previously pledging 100% to take some in, the champagne socialist even poured out the crocodile tears to the BBC during an interview about the plight of young refugees. ...
"100 per cent. Who wouldn't? "These children are being displaced - if there's room for people in my house I'm going to take them in. I think anyone would."
